A quick update for subscribers: I have re-launched my Substack email newsletter, Cybercultural, and it is now focused on web history and its impact on our culture. If you enjoyed my posts here on Web Development History over 2020 and 2021, I encourage you to subscribe to my newsletter (it’s free!).
I also want to mention that I’ve been busy writing a book about my experiences during Web 2.0 — I’m calling it my Web 2.0 memoir. I will be serializing it on Cybercultural later this year. I’m nearly 50,000 words into the book and I’m really enjoying writing it. It’s bringing back a lot of memories of Web 2.0, of both my own experience building RWW and what the technology was actually like back then. So again, please subscribe to Cybercultural if this sounds interesting to you.
In the meantime, you can checkout my first newsletter of the year: it’s a profile of BowieNet, David Bowie’s ISP and web portal from 1998, featuring an interview with one of its creators.
